Yep, happy to see the Good Girls come out on the right side.

Let's face it, the season starts at Regionals, and they are about a month away. We have GOT to get the ship right, and it needs to have been done yesterday, if not long before. Pitching, offense, defense, running the bases.....all are currently on trial.

Confidence would help. it would help a lot. In the next series, the experts will not give us a chance. I can assure anyone reading that the team coming in to KSP on Friday, UGA, ain't buying the forecast of some pundit. UGA is coming in prepared for the old Florida, and UGA wants to put a comprehensive beatdown on us.

Our backs are against the wall, and the only thing left for us to do is to come out fighting.

And it's great to be a Florida Gator.

Maybe its just me, but I had sort of a "holy crap" feeling. Yeah, we won but we had a number of gifts along the way that weren't counted as errors, but nevertheless we benefited. When UGA is here and we hit a sac fly to left, I don't think the left fielder is going to throw the ball into the dugout like UNF did. Stuff like that.

We got the job done, but a RR or even a shutout would have been a better boost. UNF got on the bus probably thinking, "that wasn't so bad." I'd rather their tails were between their legs.

On the sort of bright side, Hightower gave up only 1.5 hits (since her no hitter was blown on a replay review, I'm counting that as only half hit).

 

I was suprised that we had to use all 3 of our top pitchers against this team.

 

FWIW, Delbrey basically threw a complete game. She oddly did not come out for introductions, but started throwing bullpen in the first inning and didn't stop until she was brought in for the 6th. I don't know enough about pitching to know what that means.

 

Don't know if anyone noticed, but one time when the dugout came onto the field and gathered in a group, Kaila Pollard had a big black square padded brace strapped on her lower back. Maybe that's why we haven't seen her of late.

 

I'd be ok with one win over GA. this weekend, thrilled with two wins and would throw a party if they won all three. Being swept would be unacceptable. Go Gators.
