I'd say even more than 4 steps forward. 4-1 is great. I'd take that every set of five games. If we can get back on track with Auburn, we're sitting good.

The problem in the second half was TAMU either scored or got to the free throw line and hit their second free throw or the ball went out of bounds so they were able to set up the token press and we were left with a short clock and no plan. We are at our best when we can get out and run but you have to get live ball stops. Even when we had opportunities to put pressure on their defense after breaking the press we didn't. It's just good coaching by A&M to press all game knowing they couldn't hang with us in an up and down game and with them having a week off were going to be fresher than us after the OT game with UK. That plus a few calls that don't go our way and you lose a 1 possession game on the road.

Todd needs to wake up and force our style of play. Run and use our bigs to our advantage.

We are too good of a team to play like that against an A&M

They're not great, but they play a style that keeps them in any game. Refs could of called more but they can't every trip down the court. Just seemed like a bad match up all game. It didn't help Clayton any cold and Samuel had a rough day, looked gased. We need the week off.

we didn’t try to slow it down. Their defensive switch changed the pace of the game. We didn’t make any adjustment, and totally stalled out. But it wasn’t intentional.

yeah, no matter what everyone says have to beat Auburn as quad one record is really hurting us. This was a game tonight we should have won. Texas A&M is a bubble team at best. They have two guys that can score and if you make one go right and box him out he doesn’t score 26 he may scores 16 or 14

Referees were really good actually. We did not get Samuel involved at all and the shame of that is they don’t have a guy that can guard Samuel. This was a 20 and 10 game easily for him

Yeah. That call on Pullin while he was trying to get out of the way was a great call. /s. Just giving you a hard time. Overall, they should have got more calls being aggressive. Some of them were bs, though.

2nd half was frustrating irrespective of getting a big win in the last game.

Obviously going into these back to back road games 99% of us would have taken 1-1 and taken our chances at home vs Auburn.

But it felt like this one slipped away, and yes we still need these W’s. It’s not 1 step forward and 2 steps back, but it’s 2 steps forward and 1 step back. Yes A&M had a style of play that forces ugly games. But they aren’t that good this year and it felt more like unforced errors. Coach Cal obviously didn’t watch recent tape of us handling the press lol. We had that issue in the prior games despite the W’s. We were bothered by the press again tonight, and had too many late clock situations. Yes, that is the style A&M wants but gotta have some answers. It should be noted Golden drew up a good play out of the last timeout, but Kugel just fumbled the ball on the back cut. With a clean handle he probably makes a reverse layup. The “2nd chance” possession wasn’t great but it was a decent look that just didn’t go. Can’t make ‘em all. But too many mistakes put it all on a last shot.

I assume Pearl is going to pressure the hell out of us, so these guys better be ready.

24 free throws to 11 is a pretty big deal. They were physical and I felt were allowed to be more physical than we were. Tough loss but we get a week to get ready for Auburn.

This team is missing that "tough guy" role guy. Like a Chris Richard, Noah, or Patric Young. That physical post player that intimidates the opposing team and isn't afraid to mix it up and draw fouls imo
