Stetsons only hit a 2 out HR to break up the no hitter. Announcers jinx worked.

 

The Gator radio announcer talked about the no hitter and said he didn't believe in the broadcasters jinx-what a maroon.

 

Just like the other night with Sloane on the beam..announcer remarked how great she was doing and steady, etc...right after he said that she had a big balance check..didn't fall..but she ended up with a 9.8...luckily that was the score we could drop..I hate those kinds of jinxes..lol

 

Stetson's pretty good. Have wins against a couple of SEC teams. Plus their starting freshman pitcher had a ERA under 1. A win is a win and good to see Lexie pitch well. The whole team needs to take it up a notch to get a series win at Arkansas.

 

Do you know anything about Falby not playing

 

Arkansas has 2 good pitchers. I watched the last game against bama and they beat them in T-town. The pitcher was Delce and she pitched 10 innings and looked great.

She's not allowed out on a school night. Seriously, not only did she not play, she didn't travel.

I saw that also -- an insane number of pitches, like 175 or something. She's gonna be tough.

Just two strikes away from the no hitter. One swing ruined both the no hitter and the shutout. But to be fair, Lexie might have been gassed. The previous batter took her to the warning track.

I never complain about the umpire but this one seemed to make bad calls on each side. Not sure how it looked on TV, but we got first base when Kistler (?) obviously leaned into the pitch and tried to get hit. The ball was entirely within the batter's box, so no attempt to get out of the way was required, but Kistler clearly moved to get hit. The strike zone looked huge and inconsistent. Maybe things were better on TV. There were some pretty priceless "turn and look at the ump" facial expressions from Echols and Wallace.

 

Kistler leaned into the pitch, but the ump called ball 4 so it wasn't really a HBP. .
Echols got some bad calls and ended up striking out on a wide one out of frustration, but ump didn't seem much worse than the rest of em.from my seat on the couch.

 

Nope - Just speculating that she's been pressing a little at the plate (3-12 vs. Missouri, 0-4 Sunday) and coach decided to give her a night off.
