Yep. We currently have 20 players on the roster. Echols, Bender, Hightower, K. Goelz, Thomas & Egan can't come back. Trlicek & Longley are seniors and could come back, but if they participated in Senior Day they probably aren't. That's 6 players, for sure, who are gone and 2 more that may be gone. Do any of the remaining 12 enter the transfer portal? Will Goddard be able to play next year or will 2 serious injuries in back-to-back years cause her to hang it up? We have 6 signed freshmen coming in, so there's room to pick up anywhere from 2-5 portal players depending on what some of our ladies decide. I'm sure Coach Walton will have exit interviews with each one after the season, although he probably already knows who he'll have to work with over the fall and into next season. And, hopefully, he's already lined up a couple of key portal players to try to bring in after the season is over. The roster will look very different next year, that's for sure, and maybe that's a good thing.

 

A lot depends on the true situation with Delbrey, IMO. Will she be back at full strength next year? It seems Rylee Trlicek is leaving, even though she could come back for another season. Without RT, that leaves us with Delbrey, Gigante and 2 freshmen. Most SEC teams have 5-6 pitchers on their rosters, so considering Delbrey's iffiness, I would try to bring in 2 portal pitchers, especially if we're losing Trlicek. Will be interesting to see what CTW does.

 

We’re now officially in the bottom half of the SEC. And big time second fiddle to FSU as well. Thank God I’m a generally happy person

Riley‘s mother said she was going to stay here one more semester and finishing up an internship. Then she’s going back to Texas. She is possibly going to apply to PA school I know nothing official on Sarah, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she grad itransferred.
