Gotta hold them here. Kistler will lead us off in the bottom, hope pinch hitter for Longley and Falby wakes up.
F-7 5-3 6-3 Pitching hasnt been dominating, but good enough to win. Defense has been stellar. Bats need to step up for a walkoff.
Again, need base runners to get to Wallace and Echols. Pollard PH - singles to right, kistler back to PR Wilke PH - sac Kistler to second, out 1 Falby - 2-3, good play by catcher. Kistler to third. Wallace - singles, RBI kistler scores, tie game. Wallace steals second, to third on throwing error. Echols intentional BB, smart move. Up to Walsh Walsh - intentional BB, bases loaded Egan needs to be patient, new pitcher
Needed that win badly. Trlicek did a very good job and Skylar Wallace proves once again that she's the heart and soul of this team Stetson in Deland on Wednesday, then on to Arkansas for next weekend. That will be a huge test and I hope Delbrey gets rested and re-focused. We absolutely need her to compete for an SEC title, IMO.
Funny..I had forgotten about the game..I joined in when we were behind 2-0...then we started doing better asI started following..am I the good luck presence..lol, lol Seriously, glad we won
I agree with ya'll. My guess on why Walton pinch hit Gigante is that Egan is more undisciplined at the plate, as she's very emotional and wants so badly to do good that she sometimes swings at bad pitches. She did that her first time at bat this game, swinging at a ball that was so far inside it hit her in the upper body. Gigante has 10 walks and a HBP in only 45 at bats, so my guess is that was his reasoning. I still would have preferred Egan up there because she's a better hitter overall and has speed to beat out a close play. Didn't matter either way 'cause of the WP.
I’m pumped they took the series but honestly they were so close to being swept. Our pitching is what it is and probably isn’t going to change much anytime soon. We all love Wallace and she’s certainly not afraid to be clutch but it can’t always just be her. The rest of the lineup has to step up going forward.
