Defense is not playing well

 

Their middle of the field is wide open and so is ours...

No. Every player on the field today is bigger, stronger and faster than anyone he's played against not in practice.

And unless he's a great linebacker it won't make a difference. The defense is losing this game.

Instead of going into the half down one score, the lead is back up to 14, and they get the ball to start the 2nd half. Deflating.

 

Somebody said it earlier but just an observation, I don't see speed on both sides of the ball like we are used to seeing. Separation speed on offense and closing speed on defense.

 

The defense is very bad, again.

Last year, I gave Mertz the benefit of the doubt based on his completion percentage but he's just as bad with decision-making this year. We have no players on either line of scrimmage.
