To me, at 5-3 this early in the season, Florida shouldn't be ranked in the Top 25. We're only #49 in the NET ranking, which is the one primarily used by the tournament selection committee. Baylor is #6, Virginia #23 and Wake Forest #134. The Wake loss drug us down quite a bit. Richmond is #80, Michigan is #105. Win those 2 games, plus the East Carolina, Grambling and Quinnipiac games, which would make us 10-3 starting SEC play, and the rankings will take care of themselves. Just win, baby!

 

Better be ready to play vs Richmond, because if they play like they did the 1st 25 minutes of last night, then their going to lose and it might not be close.

 

The last time we played the Spiders down in South Florida, they played us to within a handful of points on a neutral court. And we won our 2nd straight national championship that season. They're tough.

 

The "three" in their 3-2 zone were running around like crazy in the first half.

A bit off topic but at halftime I saw a REALLY tall bald white guy with some small kids walking off the floor into the southeast tunnel. Anybody know who that was?

 

Maybe we are thinking of different games, but I was at the game in the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise 10-15 years ago and the Gators actually lost a heartbreaker to a good Richmond team.

 

The brightest spot I've seen with this coaching staff is adjustments & the players being able to execute those changes. The second best is standing up to the refs. Now just consistently get the recruits & let's see how well this program does.

 

I just checked. You are correct and I am wrong. I must have been thinking of another middie we beat down there in 2007 or so.
UF beat Richmond by 20 in our last game against them, 2015, in G-Ville.

 

Yea, we used to go to the OB basketball classic every year when we lived in Ft Lauderdale. Unfortunately, I recall the losses more than the wins. That, and the poor attendance of local fans, especially those of Miami and FSU.
