(SB) OGT-Florida vs Louisiana 3/11/23 1:30 PM SEC+

We still haven't beaten a ranked team. They just never adjusted to the pitcher's riseball and kept popping up. Our offensive stats are very deceiving.

 

Texas State, also from the Sun Belt Conference, just beat Alabama 3-1.

 

This team looks to finish in the middle of the SEC. Thin in the pitching department and they simply can’t hit good pitching, much less what they’ll encounter in conference play. This game looked like a repeat of the West Coast fiasco.

 

1 hit from our best hitters. I wonder who LA sends to the circle tomorrow. LOL.

 

Don't get down on these girls. They got beat by one run by a good team with an excellent pitcher that already threw a new hitter against UCF.....If you want to be concerned about something, worry about Tenn. They are 18 & 1, only allowed 10 runs and have shut out 14 teams. That's something to worry about.

 

They will probably throw either Kandra Lamb, who shut out Rutgers, or Sam Landry, who is 6-4 with a 3.08 ERA. Landry is kind of a co-ace with the girl who pitched today and Lamb is a 6'2" Australian with a .172 batting average against. Louisiana is a deep team with a good bit of talent.

 

No use getting up tight about this edition of gator girl softball. They will give it their
Best and then turn the future of gator softball over to the incoming class of stars. Now two years from now if we are still watching our batters struggle against top pitchers there will be cause for major concern. But hopefully the incoming pitchers for our team will keep us in every game we play.

 

I’m not “down on these girls”; I simply offered up my opinion based on observations and knowledge of how the SEC will provide an exceptionally stiff challenge, as it always does. Let’s check back in 6 weeks and see how the Gators have fared.

I think we wore their pitching staff out today.

 

Yeah I was wrong about who LA would start, but their coach should have listened to me!! Don't think it would have mattered though. Tim Walton had a heart to heart with the team about today being gut check time against 2 good opponents and they responded in a big way.

 

I wish he would have a heart-to-heart with Aric. We made adjustments in the second game, but zero adjustments to the rise ball in the first game. I am still not convinced Aric is the answer. Don't hire your best friend.
