So is SEC. We have a similar record but we're a next four out team and BYU is ranked and a 5-seed? No way, man. I'm not saying we should be a 5-seed, but if they are then we are.

he's got so much more swagger and true grit. It's tough to find 6'11 ex Aussie rules players but Golden did a HELL OF A JOB landing him. I agree, there are a lot of big tough players in Australia, their national team is no slouch and they've had some solid NBA players. Agree it might be an untapped well. Certainly more toughness than the average kid on the AAU circuit

I think Central and Eastern Europe is another massive well waiting to be tapped

Melendez season stats. Off the bench for 35 points on 7/9 2pt & 6/10 3pt shots.

yeah Walt is second best to Zyon but it's still a big gap between them imo - Clayton turns the ball over too much and gets tunnel vision looking for his own shot way too much for my liking.

he has shown decent vision at times this season, especially on the break, and he made a great pass to Micah there in OT to set up a dunk, but those type of plays don't happen nearly enough for him right now.

not to mention look at our OOC schedule. If we played cupcakes pre-season and were 4-3 in the SEC, we might be ranked.

Clayton is an alpha, but he’s very loose with the ball. Which I guess is why everyone said he was going to be the 2 guard rather than the point. That seemed to be known coming in by those who’d seen him play. He’s your classic combo guard. Can do the point in limited spurts and can light it up as a scorer, but if pressed he’ll turn it over more than you want and assists vs. turnovers won’t be great.

Kugel and Richards are also sketchy ballhandlers. So yeah, thank goodness for Pullin. My only fault with him is he gets his shot blocked a bit much while driving. But he’s otherwise rock solid with the ball.

While our ball handlers are sketchy, got to do something about that press, not being able to inbound is just not being ready. Two games in a row means opponents are going to pick up on that for sure.

Agree to disagree. I don't think depth is the issue.

absolutely need to tighten up the press break. the key to the press break imo is more about effective passing than dribbling. A couple good passes should not only get you out of any press, but should make the other team pay for it with easy baskets. Golden needs to start combing old basketball text books.

I agree 100%. I was 20 feet from the court in our loss against UVA. That game showed Clayton is a great player, but does not have the handles or decision making to be our true PG.

Yea we need Pullin to step up and lead the team. We have some good parts to a great team, but we are missing that leadership.

On to Kentucky. Stealing a game there would be huge. I'm not mad the game is later at night. Lol.

Think Condon should be inbounding in late game situations

He was also completely open when Clayton threw that fullcourt turnover. No one within 30 feet of Condon. If Clayton makes those kinds of boneheaded decisions in those do or die situations, he doesn't deserve to be inbounding the ball.

absolutely. you could see the momentum change. Golden should have called a full timeout there after they went on that 6-0 run. Screamed at the team.

We actually dropped from 35 to 36 in kenpom.com after that win. Seems right.

Co-MVGs: Pullin and Handlogten. Maybe the edge to Pullin because he saved us when everyone was having late brain cramps.
