Feels like we should be up 15, but ECU really heated up from 3. Big run to start the second half should kill their spirit.

 

Walter Clayton has been a 1-man scoring machine the first half. 48% FG shooting for us, 46% for them. Both 50% on free throws. We have 8 assists, 7 turnovers - sloppy passing and ball handling at times, making too many risky passes. They have 4 assists and 8 turnovers and we're outrebounding them 19-14. Kugel and Pullin haven't scored and Samuel only has 2. Condon has 4 points and 6 rebounds, but only 1-5 from the field, 2-5 from the free throw line. Good first half, but need more contributions from scorers other than Clayton the 2nd half, plus taking better care of the ball.

This is the way they played a good South Carolina team.
The winner was in doubt almost to the end of the game.

 

We get leads in games and then can't seems to stretch the lead out and let the opponents hang in there and creep back. Gotta half that killer instinct the 2nd half and in games moving forward.

 

Some hero pass attempts led to turnovers and points. Condon left some points at the FT line. Game felt like at least 5-7 points more from us.

My guess: those failed passes lead to tired 2nd half legs for ECU.

No foul trouble for either team, though ECU's Azur has 2.

 

Maybe he will be more assertive in the second half.

 

Spot on assessment, and it has been an issue since the first game. Sometimes, it's just not there but they try to force the pass.

 

We pass the ball in a lazy fashion and start jacking up bad shots when we're ahead.
