We can't get all three phases working at once, much less two. Either we shoot great and can't hit FTs or we hit FTs and can't shoot. Only consistent part of the team is no defense to be found anytime.

Our Admin ( DrFucs) wanted to make us an International University! He did ! It’s not a state school anymore, therefore not the flagship! They have downsized our athletics in the two sports that people really care about. I said this 4 years ago, Fuchs wanted to turn us into Stanford, Vandy, Northwestern etc .. Nice job Fuchs ! You got the job done ! We have a nerdy , non legacy student body walking around trying to figure out what’s going on .
Kids who have been Gators since babies can’t get in !
In 20 years we will be looking for boosters and donors for athletics and they won’t be there ! That money will be in other countries, other states, or graduates who don’t give a crap.
I’m done .. sorry, had to throw it out there

Well, my last year at UF was 1979 and we went 0-10-1; we since have won three NC in football and two in bball. So, we may be back to championship form in the year 2052! Cheer up now!

Just realized Kugel didn't score a single point in the 2nd half after leading us in the 1st half. o_O

I've made the decision not to watch any more of our away games this season, not worth the aggravation. We have 14 regular season games left. I'd be surprised if we win 7. I used to enjoy Gator basketball more than any other sport. Those days are getting further away every year we play. Baseball is my interest now.

I think we all know what's coming. Diehard fans will still keep a ray of hope to make the tourney but in the end they will be hoping to just make the NIT. Its getting to be a rinse repeat situation year after year. We can't expect any long term success by building teams from the portal year after year. That's today's college basketball, the world of the portal and the NIL mess that's upon us. Portal players are a complete roll of the dice and if they don't get what they want, they are out of here before the next season starts, in some cases even before this season ends. I have no better answers, only wasted time.

Idk guys. I'm a pretty optimistic fan and alum. I'm at a loss at what to say. It seems like we're paying Napier, Golden, and especially Stricklin millions of dollars a year to run our athletics into the ground. We're on track to have the worst two year period of my life at 35 in the two major sports. It's just crazy to me.

I'm a glutton for punishment and watch every game to the end. It's just unfathomable to be this down.

The doom and gloom ends when we fire our AD, end our coaching experiments,
and our President/NIL/Boosters all commit us to winning championships again.

The decision to increase the international focus came under Bernie Machen. You know, the guy who hired Urban Meyer. And, AGAIN, the increase in international students has been at the graduate level. Someone posted on another thread that UF has fewer than 900 international undergraduates out of 40,000 undergraduates

This is at least partially true. I'm surprised at the number of legacy Gators who are denied admission that are extremely competitive overall with those that get in. I have a few anecdotal examples. Maybe not proof statistically, but still worth something.

I did not see the entire game, so my comments are based on limited data.

Regardless of the home/away dynamic, Tennessee was the better team. It is what it is. I thought the guard play let us down big time. I am not sure who was the worse (don't have the stats) but for whatever reason Tennessee was a step too far.

If I may opine, if Kugel is not prepared to take the game over to win it then this team is going to be on the outside looking in as it regards to winning anything. The other players seem to have hit their respective ceilings. Clayton and Pullin especially, but maybe they can cobble together a game that is more synched. We shall see.

Condon is now James Worthy and Micah Kurt Rambis. It doesn't matter who starts as much as who is in there the most or during crunch time. This isn't an indictment of Micah as it is a coronation of Condon. He IS the story of the season, unless either Samuel or Kugel takes over this team. He IS the future of the team.

So use two. Get the ball out of his hands. Force turnovers. Do something besides have him guarded by guys 3 to 6 inches shorter.

This story ties to your post. You seem to get the reality.

In the last season at the Mac, I was sitting with my good friend @gatorjjh at a cold midweek game in our usual spot over above 1st base with very few fans there. About 3 innings in some visiting foreign students with their student hosts came in and sat right behind John and I. Most of the night they sat asking question after question what was an out or how to know what a strike or a ball is. The others were rambling on in their foreign language or listening to some music on their phone. The first inning was cute that they even cared to ask questions. But 3 innings later the annoyance was unbearable. We couldn't enjoy the game with the constant noise going on right behind us. Finally we took a stand and stood where we were. It only took about 10 minutes for them to get the message and leave.

I'm all for students to get there chance to come to UF, especially those that live in Florida. Its crazy the number of Florida kids that get turned away these days. That story says it in a nutshell that today's students can't appreciate what others have been through to build this great university. Society doesn't care about the past, only what you will give them today.

    @wingtee,

You do know that Florida hadn't won an SEC championship in either basketball or football until 1989.

And the first one was in basketball. And then the first one we won in football was stripped for cheating.

It isn't like we had a long legacy of sporting greatness.
