He supposedly makes them in practice, and his form looks great to me. Hopefully just a case of a freshmen that needs to see more go through the net in live games. I remember Chandler parsons couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, until exploding in his jr and sr years.
Especially losing Johnson the way we did. He was lucky to have survived that. Shame that he didn’t come back the next year, but apparently Medical personnel would not clear him. So he went on to be a star somewhere else. Wish him well.
My quick take: it was a lot to ask after Micah. Pearl had his team playing "to the echo of the whistle", every single player seemed dialed in. For them: it worked. We just got stuffed. For us: nothing worked. Not even the front-end of 1-on-1s by reserve players, much less 7% from 3. I'll factor in emotional fatigue and tired legs. But today, Auburn would have beat us on 1 day of rest.
The Gators were tired. They played with all their might, but they were tired and that affected their play. Fatigue factor. Go Gators. Get some rest and come back strong.
Z Pullin - 15 points (4-of-13 FG, 7-of-11 FT, 7 Reb, 1 Stl, 1 Blk, 2 Asst, 2 TO) Clayton - 13 points (3-of-10 FG, 1-of-5 3pt, 6-of-6 FT, 4 Reb, 3 Asst, 3 TO) Samuel - 12 points (5-of-11 FG, 2-of-2 FT, 4 Reb, 2 Stl, 2 Ast, 1 TO) THaugh - 11 points (5-of-13 FG, 0-of-3 3pt, 1-of-2 FT, 4 Reb, 2 Blk)
Horrible shooting just made it impossible to beat a good team. Great tournament for our guys. Maybe get a six seed.
1-13 shooting 3's and Pullin, Clayton & Richard 8-29 from the field. Gators won't win with our best shooters putting it up that poorly. Kudos to Auburn for playing their physical, mugging game that we didn't match and the refs letting the game be played that way. They were the better team today, but I'd much rather have our coaches and our players than theirs.
