If we can start making shots we can win this. Down 8 with the way we've played, that's not too bad. Awful to deal with Handlogten going down but the guys are responding now. Haugh is playing with anger... I like it.
The good thing is Auburn can't shoot for shit, if they could they would be up 20. Horrible half shooting and Clayton being a non factor has to get better in the 2nd half. Aberdeen doesn't look as effective, maybe Kugel gets some mins the 2nd half. Richard having 3 fouls is an issue
We will lock-in in the second half. We have to take the ball to the hoop in the 2nd half, because Auburn is in foul trouble.
What we need in the 2nd is what we needed against Tammy. Getting Tyrese to go to work inside and then finding the open shooter for the 3. Inside-out, baby.
I think he can go right at Broome, he doesn't enjoy the contact and I think Samuel can get him into foul trouble.
Samuel - 8 points (3-of-6 FG, 2-of-2 F, 2 Reb, 1 Stl, 0 Ast, 1 TO) Z Pullin - 7 points (1-of-4 FG, 5-of-6 FT, 2 Reb, 1 Blk, 1 Asst, 1 TO) THaugh - 7 points (3-of-7 FG, 0-of-1 3pt, 1-of-1 FT, 2 Reb, 1 Blk)
Offensively, we’ve got to play with more FORCE. We’ve got to get into their chests and negate the hand-checking. AUB is going to do it all game to negate our speed & try and control where we go on the floor. Our job is to fight through it. The baseline & back door cuts can be had with AUB playing high to disrupt our offense.
What do any of you who know anything about basketball see as the difference between our game in G'ville and this one?
Coach will get them fully reset in the locker room and they will control the second half just like yesterday
If we come out for the second half like we did the last 5 minutes of the first half, we are in good shape. The key to this particular game is Condon and Haugh. If our normal stars can give some supporting fire, we got this. Need ZP, Clayton and Richard to hit a few threes and open up down low. If we come out lax and Auburn extends to 12 points or more early, we are in big trouble.
This is a great opportunity to show the rest of the tournament field that without our starting center, without our sixth man, and playing four games in a row in four days, we still came back and won the SEC Championship.
Offense is out of synch. Our normal scorers are struggling. If ZP, Clayton, Samuel, and Richard were having even decent offensive games, we are up by 5-10 points.
With Kugel apparently not playing, and Aberdeen out of offensive magic, if Richard gets his 4th, we should go with the 3 bigs together with Haugh at the 3
Well, for starters, Kugel was our leading scorer with 22 points (7/16 FG, 3/7 3pt, 5/5 FT). Today he's MIA. And Handles had 9 Rebounds and 5 Blocks in Gainesville while scoring 4. Clayton had 20 points, Pullin 19. Today Clayton has 2.
was Micah's injury the same leg as he injured early this year? Strange that both happened in the game's first few minutes.
