Random question. I haven't played organized basketball or coached in a long time. When did following your shot for a rebound stop being taught?

I don't see many players do it anymore.

I was listening to Steve Russell say that we score so Riley not scoring wasnt a big deal, or something to that effect

What WR shows is that when you have multiple scorers, you become harder to defend.

Btw, just ban our bigs from 3s. I guess the philosophy is that we will get the board so it is the same as an entry pass but still...

 

Smith had four turnovers in the first half. We played about as good against him in the first half as could be hoped for. They will lean on him in the second and we'll have to distribute some fouls. If we just hang with him a bit in the 2nd, we've got a great chance to get an important win.

 

I think they decided to put their two bigs in at the same time in order to eliminate our inside game. It was a gamble that worked until our outside game (i.e. Richard) started to click.

 

If Kugel played as hard as Richard he would get a lot more playing time. He has the athleticism to crash the boards and get rebounds the way Richard does, but doesn't for whatever reason.

 

Our bigs are in great shape foul wise, so if Smith has great position we need hard fouls to force him to the line.

 

It would be key if we can get another foul on Jeffries(2) and then Jones(3).

 

State only has 11 points from their starters.

 

Like taking candy from a baby...they just stole it.

 

That was just horrible the way we brought the ball up.
