These folks knew the risks of playing football at the highest levels. Unless it’s absolutely blatant then it shouldn’t be a penalty.

No consistency. Similar play in Bama game not called. Terrible call at key point in game.

 

Unfortunately, almost anything is roughing the passer these days. It's not just this game. Defensive guys have to be REALLY careful. Dropping your 300 pound body on a QB long after he releases the ball is going to get called all the time, like it or not...

 

The INT happened in part because of the pressure on the QB. But if you can't bring that pressure for fear of a penalty when you can't run through the QB, then you can't create those game-changing plays.
