Meh I’m never, ever on the “fire a coach year one” train unless something utterly catastrophic happens. But Here’s what’s really scary to me. When we hired Muschamp, Butters and Mullen, the East was mostly ours. UGA was on its way up, UK was progressing and TN just got Heupel. Now UGA is entrenched with a title and mass recruiting classes, we know UK is better than us lately, and TN is apparently running away from us with a Bama win and momentum. And this is just the SEC-east. Long story short- Napier has a MUCH harder road ahead than the last three coaches had, especially in our own division. That will surely test this fanbase for a mostly unproven coach. Utah week 1 was nice, but that lister won’t last long. What will it take for the staff to change something? I LOVED AR last year in his limited time, and still love him when going off the cuff if you will, but I’m just not seeing his passing progression. Maybe Mullen was right with EJ? Either way. Go Gators!
UT continued to recruit well and over recruited - something UF refused to do - which along with our refusal to allow use of the different "shirt" rules and guaranteeing four year scholarships just sunk us with recruiting.
The reality is we have a bad defensive scheme for this team. They have dinked and dunked all year long, but for some reason our coaches never taught our players that fact. Yes, the occasional long ball when we give their QB all day to pass has happened as a result of lack of pressure on their QB too.
What a waste of a Saturday night. This team just isn’t good. Our “superstar” QB had no football IQ. Every ball is thrown at Mach 2.
