Happy for you.
There were lots and lots of positives about this game but mostly on Offense. We should have won big vs this not at all good team we played today. We did what we needed to do. But, we still have a glaring issue on D and my contention is that it is more than just talent. Talent wise, even with our guys who are not as good as advertised or screwed up by last D coaches, still got pushed around, still allowed their qb to have a record day. To maintain this bend but don't break style of D, will limit our O touches, wear out our D, and will allow teams to drive down the field. Unlike our todays opponent, other teams will find the end zone more frequently. Lots of teams have timing passes, we have yet to really disrupt that. Our D seems to want to contain qbs but not pressure them. Seems to me we allow O to dictate plays and we hope at some point they mess up vs us making a play.
It would seem to me (as a fan) that this would be a good game to at least play a more aggressive man to man D.

 

Most important stat (other than no major injuries) is our backup QB got some action.

Of course, I really hated seeing ETN in the game so late.

 

We won big got the young guys work, Kitna looked good not a bad day.
This is our D until we get a stud DT, a couple LBs, this is who we are.
Will enjoy the game

 

Nice to see some kids get in there. Especially Linguard.

I really like Kitna. I imagine it would be more challenging against SEC comp, but... good showing.

Tough game next week based on the Georgia game.

unrelated, I hope the folks in the SW Fla are sorting their lives out after the hurricane- Prayers to them.

Most of the posters enjoy the game. A few of the posters enjoy making them miserable.

 

What are we complaining about? It’s a cupcake win and we got them young guys some work. Clearly defense has some glaring issues.

80 Players saw the field today

 

Overall happy with the results today. We’re a work in progress. I expected this year to have a lot of hits and misses. I’m trusting the process.

 

No debate on defense having issues. The repetitive complaining isn’t going to fix it. Everyone is aware.

The vets cannot piece together a respectable pass defense. So why play them?

 

Yep, they should be relegated to cheerleader status with the possibility to be a piece of a savior mode if some of the youngsters are too emotional to win a certain game. Not a bad gig, if you have your head in the proper place.

As I posted before, and was sort of misunderstood, we don't have any "must win" games going forward, with the exception of FSU. Get the guys who are going to be key the next two years some valuable live fire coaching and experience.
