It wasn't a "break." It was a penalty. A STUPID penalty on Oregon State . . .

Contact happened before the ball passed the wr. Hence the penalty. Uncatchable doesn't matter.

Again with this nonsense. Refs can suck independent of them being the cause of a team losing.

 

I've seen more hurry up offense backfire this year than I can remember. All it seems to do is hurry up and mess up.

 

It's a penalty if the ref calls it one, your feelings about it being a bad call don't come into play.

The rule states that when the catchability of the ball is in question it's considered catchable. Obviously that ref didn't think it was clearly uncatchable, which can happen when trying to call a live game from on the field. Not as easy to judge the catchability as it is from your couch.

Best way not to get that penalty is not grab the receiver by the earhole.
