I don't know if he was given the liberty to change plays. There has to be certain point in time that instinct takes over and take off. I feel like he over thinks it.
It reminded me of the last samurai movie with Tom Cruise where Nobutada was telling him, "too many mind. No mind."

 

I believe he maybe given a couple of directions/plays-and and doesn't make good decisions

Yeah, pretty concerned at this point. So many things don’t make sense:
Playcalling
Clock management
Game plan- didn’t make sense today
Personnel decisions- wonder how many of those 6 drops Whittemore would have dropped.
Not utilizing best athlete’s legs. HBC’s responsibility to make that a focal point.

today he threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns and remember he had six drops. None of those drops were his fault. I can think of one receiver that is transferring that would never drop any of those balls.

it’s really hard to sit back and listen to everybody criticize AR all the time. It’s not his responsibility to focus on running it’s the head ball coaches responsibility to make sure he lets him know that he wants him doing that. I truly feel like it’s that easy meanie head coach says Anthony I want you to look keep on zone read. Or better yet why not call quarterback power??

 

Last time it happened in Nashville, was 1988.

 

Agree, something gotta change or Friday is ugly. You notice we average under 3 yards a carry against good teams. That was before Vandy. LSU, UT, Georgia all made our o line look bad as far as shutting the run game down. Today Vandy did that. If Vanderbilt can do it what will Florida State do to us?

I fear they run all over us. If we can’t shut their run game down and we can’t run the ball a little bit will be a very long night

 

Maybe but running 3rd and 8 consistently makes no sense. And for those blaming our quarterback it’s not on the quarterback when we have seen it in five different games this year. It’s on the head coach

I think that should have happened a long time ago. However NIK has impacted decisions coaches make regarding playing time. If AR knows he is not going to go 100% because he is safeguarding his future, we should be playing someone who will.

 

stuff like this. While we're not in the football profession. We all can relate right? At work when you get a new supervisor, manager, director, administrator, whatever. There are a few who come in and do things that make you really wonder if they know what they're doing. Coach may know how to build a team and program but I really think he needs a legitimate OC who can lead the offense.

 

or our players just didnt show up! That has nothing to do with Vandys talent level catching up to us.
