Yeah you should really never run from shotgun/pistol for short yards. Further you are from LOS for hand off, longer it takes for play to develop, more time the defense has to react and penetrate.
Napier has a genuine issue trying to use misdirection when everyone and their mother knows whats coming and its time for raw muscle.
