Nice thing is they are still battling and in the fight against top 5 teams despite abysmal pitching from EH and Delbrey. Had the tying run at the plate in 5th, 6th, and 7th but couldn't get the clutch hit

 

Got to keep a good team at 3-4 runs with good pitching…. Not us now

 

Oddly, with softball skyrocketing in popularity (the WCWS ratings surpassed baseball) FSU elected to remove bleachers behind the visitor's dugout and replace with long tables and chairs. Probably reduced capacity in that section 90%. Bizarre choice.

The stadium has no legroom (it makes Spirit Airlines look generous) but on the other hand, it's steep and with little distance behind home plate and the stands, it really puts you in the action.

They also seem to have a new scoreboard. But overall, it's not a first-tier stadium by any means. We are spoiled by KSP.

 

And I forgot to mention two runs -- which was ball game over.

I don't know pitching that much, but perhaps we should take a page out of South Carolina's playbook and pitch by committee. Everyone pitches, every game. SC's coach says it completely takes the pressure off, since each pitcher is only responsible for one inning (they have a ton of pitchers, in our case it would be a couple of innings), plus the opposition team is kept off balance.

 

This might be the worst softball team we have had in years. Outside of Wallace, Walsh and maybe Echols I wouldn't pick another player on this team.

Next few recruiting classes better live up to their billing.

 

We had a severe hailstorm in north Ocala and lost power until after 11 pm. Tough loss. Closer game than I thought it would be. The ladies do seem to give it their best effort, but right now FSU is the better team. Weather not looking favorable for getting all 3 games of the Ole Miss series played. Rain predicted all 3 days.

 

Was praying for Walton to make the pitching change after 3 innings. Had a 3-2 lead. Bring in Trlicek with a clean slate and momentum. We always seem to wait for disaster to strike instead of trying to prevent it. But it’s always easy to be the armchair QB.

 

The answer is simple. It's because she is a vacuum behind the plate -- nothing gets by her. Plus she's a cannon to 2B, everyone is caught stealing.

Yes, my brother, you are right. My bad. We did the double with UGA 2 weeks ago and took both series. Ole Miss and Missouri this weekend.

 

It's very similar makeup to last years team, and probably a better offensive squad (do miss clutch offense from Adams). The big difference IMO is the 2 primary pitchers last year can't get anybody out this year

 

And Adams' awesome defensive play at 2nd base. Don't forget Cheyenne Lindsay had RF locked down and got a lot of clutch hits for us. But I agree that pitching is the big difference and letdown.
