These Florida kids have had to completely re-tool their offense in a matter of days losing their best player and key cog to the offense and, what 20-25% of the points . . . so if they look a little inexperienced running something brand new it's expected. Also the best rim protector in the SEC is suddenly missing so their defense will be different too by necessity. Down 6 at halftime and could be disastrous under the circumstances. It's workable.
Well, I’m not surprised we are trailing at halftime without CC. 6 points seems about right. However, I don’t know what the actual game plan is on offense. my non professional game plan would’ve been to bleed a little clock and shorten the game. Since no CC and JJ apparently has no real game skills outside of being big- getting open shots from 3 point land would be a way to win. Now we don’t shoot 3s well but most of them have been bad 3s - off balance or rushed. I would have reeves and Kugel continue driving and look for Richard and Bonham, who hasn’t played, from deep. Hell, I’d take jimmy dykes advice and have the German sniper pick and pop for some 3s. I don’t think we can win playing the same game we did with CC without him - but looks like we are trying to. We didn’t call a single timeout that half so lost 1 as it won’t carry over (I think that’s the rule - correct me or wrong). Coaches need to be coaching hard when outmanned. Doesn’t mean yell and scream but it does include using timeouts, subbing players liberally so you can coach someone up on sideline and send them in with a play/ thoughts and try to gain every advantage. Like a mid major does in the ncaa tourney to pull the upset. I didn’t see any of that.
There's only so much Coach Golden can change and install in a couple of days. We may see something or some things at halftime Arkansas can't discuss and adjust as easily to. I'd rather see more pressure and up-tempo from the athletes Florida has so I lean the other way . . . unless it just doesn't work. My way they may be down 15 at halftime instead of just 6 though. LOL!
From what I have heard & read, he has limited vision in the eye that was injured. That could explain why he's not playing very well. In any event - it is what it is - injuries happen in sports and coaches need to make tough decisions on who to play.
We start 4 guards and shoot 1-11 from 3. They start 4 guards and shoot 0-5. What is happening with college basketball
