Should have could have would have. It was a game of many lost opportunities for the Gators. That being said, Tennessee has the better softball team this year. I wish them well in post season.

On to baseball tonight..hoping our guys take care of vandy..

 

I love listening to Michelle Smith, though. Mowins has a voice that just grates.

 

I hope they don't send us to Tallahassee. I'd like to play teams we haven't seen all year.

 

Tennessee is just on a different level this season.

 

They are the class of the SEC for sure. For all the competitiveness in the league, I think the SEC is actually down this year, much like last year. Last year we were a #14 seed and was the only SEC team to make the WCWS. It wouldn't surprise me if only 1, or maybe even none, makes it this year. Tennessee, obviously, has the best odds, but they're not invincible.

 

I wonder whether Ralph is kicking himself for quitting. This had to be a fun year for Tennessee.

 

Only other possibility is Clemson. But we are just outside of the 400 mile radius which is typically by what the NCAA selection committee goes by. You would think SC has better odds of being sent to Clemson.

 

I think Ralph retiring was the best thing for the program. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels Karen seems happier now that she's head coach and not co head coach. I'm not saying Ralph is a bad guy. I personally think his way of coaching methods just didn't catch up with the game today.

 

As a semi final note - anyone that now wonders why I do not think #52 should have ever been our catcher should now look at these last 5 games and that should have answered the question. I do like Sam but she should be the catcher and not the second baseman. Even if her arm is not that strong, at least she knows where to throw and does not drop balls, knows how to do a run down and knows how to block the plate on not so good pitches.
