Tennessee football vs Florida matchup: Will Kyle Trask rewrite Neyland Stadium record book?
    Mike Wilson Knoxville News Sentinel
Tennessee football returns to Neyland Stadium for the first time since October when the Vols (2-5) host No. 5 Florida (7-1) on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS).
The Vols have lost both meetings with Florida under Jeremy Pruitt by a combined 57 points.
Here is what you need to know about the matchup:

    3 questions
Will Kyle Trask break the record for single-game touchdown passes at Neyland Stadium?
No quarterback — Vol or opponent — has ever thrown six touchdowns in a game at Neyland Stadium.
Florida quarterback Kyle Trask has thrown six touchdowns in a game twice this season, setting up the Gators senior with an opportunity to make history against a mediocre Tennessee secondary.
Tennessee has twice allowed an opposing quarterback to throw six touchdown passes in a game, but both games were on the road. Erik Ainge holds Tennessee's single-game record with seven, but that was at Kentucky in 2007.
Can Tennessee build on its best offensive game of the season?
The Vols posted 464 yards against Auburn — a season-high and the third time that Tennessee has had at least 450 total yards against a Power Five team under Pruitt. UT also had 222 yards rushing, highlighted by a big performance by Eric Gray.

Florida's defense is pedestrian. The Vols should have some success offensively, but it might be with a new quarterback if the quarantining quarterback is Jarrett Guarantano.

Phillip Fulmer preaches patience for Jeremy Pruitt in assessing Tennessee football's struggles
    Blake Toppmeyer
    Knoxville News Sentinel
Phillip Fulmer broke his silence on Tennessee's struggling football program on Wednesday and preached a message of patience for embattled third-year coach Jeremy Pruitt.
The Vols athletics director offered his assessment of the football program during an interview on "Vol Calls," the statewide radio call-in show on the Vol Network. It marks Fulmer's first time publicly addressing the football program or Pruitt during the team's five-game losing streak.
“I have to really look at it from a big picture and realistically and not emotionally," Fulmer said during his eight-minute radio appearance. "Just the fact that our student-athletes have had the opportunity to compete and play games this season is a victory in itself. They’re facing challenges all the time that are unprecedented.”
Fulmer stopped shy of an outright vote of confidence in Pruitt, but he listed some improvements he sees in the program and compared the start of Pruitt's tenure to that of former coach Johnny Majors.
Fulmer noted that Majors' record through 30 games was 14-15-1 and that Pruitt's record was 15-15 after 30 games.
Pruitt is now 15-17, and the Vols (2-5) are in the midst of their first five-game losing streak since they started the 1988 season 0-6.

“It took Coach (Majors) into his fourth and fifth year to get things turned around," Fulmer said. "Right now, everybody wished it would happen quicker in the process.”
“I really think we’re a better football team than our record has shown. The team has played hard. I think the Auburn game was a good example of that.”

Forecast is now for sunny, light winds, and a high of 51, dipping into the mid-40s by the end of the game.

If we lay a turd in this game, it ain’t gonna be because of the nothingburger weather.
