Scarborough is usually a really good announcer but she got so confused on that infield fly play. Great game by us all around. I think we got a top 8

Agree Amanda is usually pretty good but she sure got farmer homerish in this series. And, yea don’t why the confusion on the infield fly rule, pretty straight forward to me.

 

The 1B coach should have known better, also. Did TV show the TAM first-base coach going nuts? Obviously, his fault for not alerting the runner to the infield fly. Really got into it with the ump after the play. First coach ejection of the year at KSP.

To add insult to injury.....he went back to the dugout where he stayed for awhile. Gator fans were yelling he had to leave. Apparently Blue heard, because that female ump went over and escorted him out. BUT SHE ESCORTED HIM TO THE OUTFIELD GATE DOWN THE FIRST BASE LINE!!

So now he has to make the walk of shame around the entire outfield concourse. He was still pissed off and apparently some fans heckled him because he doubled back and got in their face for a moment before thinking better of it. By the time he reached the outfield scoreboard, Gainesville Police were there to escort him the rest of the way out.

Comical!

 

I respect that on CTW part, although between the error and obstruction, it didn't exactly work out well if you were just considering one game. OTOH, player relationships are about more than one game.

 

Way to end the regular season in style! Go Gators!

 

You don't think of Rothrock as a strikeout pitcher, but I think there were three instances of inning-ending strikeouts with RISP (twice on 3B). I'm not sure which of our gang said it, but very apt: we have been watching her mature before our eyes.
