Yeah, rocky start to the SEC for Sooner Nation, particularly when that Longhorn team down the road is playing an upcoming semifinal playoff game.

The head coaching business is merciless, particularly at a program like OU. They have too big of a trophy case to tolerate mediocrity.

I respect Venebles and he certainly is a top D Coordinator, which he has proven at various stops.

Of the three - OU, TX, TAMU, I would prefer Venebles / OU, but much like Billy, he is teetering on the edge, the difference being UFs star is ascending and OU's is headed a bit in the wrong direction.

 

Interesting parallel between former
Big 12 rivals Texas and Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is 31-26-1 in bowls now.
Texas is also 31-26-2 before theirs.

 

UF also lost to Army in 1923 and 24...both games in West Point, NY.
