(SB) Official Game Thread - UF @ Georgia 3-Game Series

Georgia gave us this one. Take it. This game was vital need to be in top 4 ending the regular season. Nice job throwing punches ladies!! Williams is close now........

 

I think there are pitching issues, but not in a bad way. At the very beginning of the season Walton said that “pitching will take us as far as we can go.” We didn’t get an experienced arm through the portal, no fault of his own. He tried and it really sickens me that it has come down to getting a great scholarship plus extras like planes, trains and automobiles. I applaud the girls taking the best offer for their future. These days, I feel they need to get a PR staff and agent to negotiate a contract. My point is that Walton is working with this young talent he has assembled, without the additional “star” pitcher from the portal which almost every team has attained. Everyone is so antsy about this year and worried about hosting and RPI rankings, etc. Just let it play out. Enjoy the game. The future is very bright for these young ladies.

 

Bamer beat UT 1-0 to salvage a win in the series. Nice Beaver.

 

They did a lot of things but UGA didn't hand us this game anymore than we handed it to them. Our ladies fought and earned it.

 

Fair enough. If the tag on Falby is in the correct spot different story. Game of inches. Hard to take two in Athens. Nice work all around.

 

The crappy UGA scoreboard doesn't have replays. The fans were pretty outraged over the replay at third overturning the out and also the "left early" non-call upheld. So what did TV show? Clear as day or did we catch a break?

This was "Senior Day" weekend for UGA. It took two games to complete the ceremonies. I was thinking next year's gonna be a struggle for the Dawgs. They did honor our Seniors in addition to theirs, classy move.

3-2 count in the seventh, two outs, we are one strike (or out) away from losing the series....only to come back to win big. If this were a Hollywood movie it would get panned for being not-realistic, things never work out like that, just Hollywood script writers. Totally amazing what this team is doing.

I'll also hand it to the UGA fans -- the entry line starts two and a half to three hours before every game and if you are not in line at least an hour early, you get turned away when the max number of people pass through the gate. LOTS of fans turned away this series.

 

Allow those calls were reviewed correctly. Actually a pretty good job by the umpires.

 

Now we need to get that FSU win.

 

Just watched the replay. One strike away from loss and rally to score 7 runs. Hell of an effort on the road.

Erickson was obviously clutch but Kistler deserves some kudos with the base clearing hit and game ending diving catch.

 

The ball clearly beat Falby to the base. That always makes it look like an out and usually is. However, as previously stated 3rd baseperson failed to tag the correct leg.

The "left early" call was easy. She did not leave early.

Believe I heard Michelle Smith say that's Florida's 7th straight series win over dog-people. Nice.

I'm so glad she has finally showed up. She's always shown flashes but she's jsut seems so confident and overall well rounded hitter.
