First of All! GATORS, Let’s Be the First to Welcome The Oklahoma Sooners AND The Texas Longhorns to The SEC! NOW My Fellow Gators, As you can see in the opening post. The “Red River Rivalry Game” AKA once The Red River Shootout! Is very similar every year To the FLORIDA GEORGIA GAME IN JACKSONVILLE! OK GATORS AND FRIENDS ! Again,Let’s Give a Big Welcome TO The Longhorns And to The OU Sooners! let them know how Exciting it is to be in the SEC FAMILY!
As a kid, this was 1 of 2 marquee games that were nationally televised in the Big 8. Steve Owens was who I pretended to be in our backyard pickup games. Hate to say it, but this realignment, with west coast joining Big 10, mid west joining Southeast, etc etc…that, getting older, and health priorities are really taking the luster off the college ball for me…alas…but looks like a good game this year!
My daughter's going to be there. She's thinking of getting up at at 4 to see if she can get on GameDay, but there will also be drinking involved so I doubt it. I've told her to avoid fights with Texas girls (or boys). Hope it's a better game that last year. Boomer!
In memory of my awesome Uncle Ray Shadowens who for many years was Pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Norman, Oklahoma and became a big OU Fan, Boomer Sooner!
Are they ever going to ditch that Cotton Bowl catacomb and play permanently at Jerry World? No fan of Jerry, but the Cotton Bowl is a relic that belongs in the yunkyard.
It’s not at home for Texas. Dallas is considered a neutral site, roughly halfway between Austin and Norman.
