I mean if I could afford it, I too would establish residence in FLA for tax purposes and then basically live the same life in places away from Florida for most of the year. The Trump model. People with money don't have to deal with FLA caveman policy like an average pleb does.

Through my work I actually speak with many NY residents in the financial industry that moved to Florida from NYC, then later moved back. It wasn't due to higher costs or anything, it was primarily due to lack of space in private schools in south Florida. It didn't matter they couldn't get their kids into good schools down here in the beginning of COVID since their NYC schools were doing remote anyway, but once they opened back up and the choice was between south Florida public schools/mediocre private schools and moving back to NYC, many chose to move back. Especially since the homes they just bought down here had jumped so much in those two years.

 

Again I think the roads are fine, but when you say the roads are terrible what are you comparing them to? Besides, what does the state’s hostile takeover of GRU have to do with roads?

I was commenting on your road statement. I ran a route delivering O2 to vets and drove all over the state from above Perry Florida to just north of Brooksville. Drove lots of country roads. Alachua county has some of the worse I’ve driven. Not the worse but close to it.
