Depends how you view it. Women generally play more conservatively than men do. So an aggressive man who gets on any kind of run has a big advantage. There is a reason only one woman has ever made the final table at the WSOP main event, and that was when the field was under 300.
But the article makes the larger point, these tournaments are also about women having a space away from the overly aholish macho male poker players.

As of a year or so ago, women were like 4% of all players. Nearing a zero percent chance before this "passive" play even starts. The youngest bracelet winner ever was a woman (actually, 17.) They play the same probabilities the men do. Doubtful that men play bad statistics ("aggressive") anymore than women. Obviously, winning with a poor hand is a huge advantage in the end, and if you can dramatically increase the number of times you can take that chance (24:1), then you have an inherent advantage. It is pretty hard to lose if you get 24X the chances to make the same high risk/high reward choices.

Also not buying the ahole factor. Plenty of Helmuth in that world to be sure, but not all. And I know plenty of women in life that make me pick the dog up and run through traffic to cross the street when I spot them coming down the sidewalk. They can hang in that department also.
