This idea that every college football program is corrupt and covers up crime is a conspiracy theory. Equivocating AH with JW is also fallacious on many levels. First, the degrees of evidence against JW and AH are very very different with respect to what they are accused of at UF and FSU respectively. There is a person who could put themselves on the stand and point at JW and say, "That man raped me." There is no evidence of comparable strength in relation to what some accuse AH of doing while he was at UF.

We know very little about the insinuations that were made against AH in Gainesville. We know a lot about what JW was accused of in Tallahassee. Any attempt to equivocate the two is based on the fact that both schools are rivals in the state of Florida. It is a convenient narrative for a Nole to make themselves feel justified in cheering for their team. It is nothing more than that.

 

I knew a nole once. He was very into his team. He quit even before Bowden did. Because he was sick of the culture, crime, etc.

I respect him for that and have always said I would do the same if my team was that out of control.

 

I don't think all college programs share the same level of corruption in this regard, but I do find it somewhat amusing how each fanbase views their favorite school.

He was convicted of killing someone by shooting them, yet you think there is no evidence of comparable strength to even assign some level of probability to him potentially shooting someone in Gainesville? I'm not saying he did it. I'm just saying if UF fans are going to convict Jameis Winston in the court of public opinion based on "how it looks", then surely, it is not out of bounds for people to think there is a chance that AH was involved in criminal activity. Honestly, I hope it's not true but given the way things played out it's certainly plausible.

But, the argument here isn't even whether he did it or not. I just wish people would stop being naive and hypocritical.

Lol, yeah but hate has only 4 letters vs. "Heavy Skepticism" and IMO there's truly just a thin line between those two words any how. With that said I hope both parties take advantage of the 2nd chance.

 

Wrt Winston, he was actually with his accuser and had sex with her when the crime was said to of happened. The only argument was whether it was completely consensual or not. I imagine there isn't much linking Ahern to the Gainesville shooting or they would have tacked that on as well.

There is no question that fans are biased towards their school. I have no disagreements with you there.

I think we could assign a probability. I think the probability is pretty low that there was a police cover up in Gainesville for a AH murder based on the evidence we have surrounding AH.
