I tell mine they don’t deserve anything and hope they get the opportunity. Work for tge opportunity and don’t screw it up. Second chances are gifts.
And yes, kids are a tough job. They don’t all take lessons the same way. Some never learn and that’s on them. Parenting is like coaches. We get too much credit for their successes and too much blame when they fail.

I don’t disagree with the hard work advice. I give my kids the same. But respectfully, that’s not what we are talking about. There is a chance that Cormani gets a second chance and comes here. Many people are saying he shouldn’t even get the chance, as if acting like an ass should get him a lifetime ban. Look, if he came to UF demanding things and high NIL payment… I’d also tell him to kick rocks. If he comes back humble and ready to work for his spot and playing time, I’m all for it.

To be fair, that wasn’t Cormani himself saying that he deserves another chance, it’s another poster. You can’t slap entitlement on someone via a 3rd party. Also, I think it’s just a manner of speaking. I don’t think @gatordadx2 literally meant he deserves anything. I think he just meant in general he’d like to see young man get another shot at it to redeem himself. What he did was foolish and distasteful, but much worse things are forgiven everyday.

Desperate is never good. Billy is building this to last, brick by brick, starting with the trenches - and a 5* QB. It’s been slow going but started in a deep hole. This won’t be a flash in the pan team.

    My take…

    1) Cormani was coached at Lake Gibson by a former analyst who worked with Billy. Billy has a great source about the character of Cormani that we don’t.

    2) Cormani was coached by former gator Ahmad Black at Lakeland his senior year. Black has ties to UF and Napier has access to Blacks opinion on Cormani. Another source that we don’t have. (Note- Black was angry at UF fans for their reactions to Cormani committing to Miami over UF).

    3) The only people who should really feel slighted by Cormani’s actions are Napier and Raymond (and apparently Skink). Raymond is gone. So only Napier is left of people who matters in reference to hurt feelings, if any.

    4) I imagine that Uf talent evaluators think Cormani is a massive talent with huge upside to be a difference maker. Otherwise they wouldn’t bother with any visits. If the coaches feel there are no issues with his handlers, etc. then my opinion is moot.

    5) the DL Robinson told UF over the phone he was committing to Uf but instead chose Texas after they upped the bag. He then transferred to Florida but no one seems to care.

    6) there is not one instance of off field transgressions for Cormani.

If Cormani ends up at Uf - I hope he balls out. Otherwise, I don’t care what he does or where he goes. Makes no difference to me and my life.

    go gators.

I really don’t like the kid or his attitude as I’ve already said. I do however hope that he grows up a bit and becomes someone we all admire, especially if he becomes a gator.

If you were paying attention, you know that it wasn’t just the flip to a rival that pissed off gator fans. He threw plenty of shade our way while doing it. Skink isn’t the only one that has issues with Cormani. Cormani should have left Colorado and kept his mouth shut in that situation also. I can’t stand Dion but I would have thanked him and the school for the opportunity publicly. It’s just always best to take the high road and show class than get in a pissing match with a douche bag like Dion.

There are a lot of analyst's predicting he will be a Gator. Actually, I have yet to hear one say he's going somewhere else. Heck, I don't even know what other schools he's considering.

It sure feels like he's about to become a Gator. It's almost time to forgive and forget and support him.

If he becomes a great player, Napier/Harris should be able to use that on the recruiting trail for many years. They took a cast-off from Deion (who was publicly critical of the Cormani), inserted him into their system and helped him realize his potential.

The fact that no one entered the portal after the spring game tells me the 85 players on the roster want to be Gators and the coaches want them on the team. I would be shocked if one player (ie, Cormani) could do damage to the culture. Someone like Marshall, Wingo, Boone, Shemar, Cam, Sapp, Mertz, Castell, EW3, etc... will instantly yank his ass aside and set him straight if he's being a cancer.

Finally, I love that all 85 players are bought-in but NIL turned college football into a business and someone is probably going to lose their scholarship if Cormani and Badger want to be Gators. Bench warmers making $5k/month in NIL are expendable when you have a better player ready to sign. I'm 100% on-board with upgrading your talent but I'm sure there are a lot of people that have a problem with this part.

    Go Gators!

I do remember. I just don’t care. I have seen hundreds of videos of hat tosses and mockery and trolling when guys commit. (And sadly I think gators get more of the trolling than others but maybe that is just me). Doesn’t impact my life one bit. Were you ok with Dante Fowler, who was committed to FSU for years and told them not to worry about all his visits to UF that he was 100% solid to FSU only to flip on signing day? He potentially lied to that staff for months and months on end but since he ended up a gator was it ok? It goes both ways.

Don’t disagree about taking the high road. But from what I have seen, less than half of society takes the high road. Most don’t. The older adults in the room didn’t in this case (Dion) and neither did Cormani. Two wrongs don’t make a right but I just don’t care what others say and do that have zero impact on my life. Life’s too short. (When I was younger I did care but once I hit say 30-35…what I do and say matters. Others not so much).

I don’t like anyone that behaves that way no matter what uniform they put on. There are several gators I don’t care for one bit.

Maybe he is entitled, maybe he was entranced by the neon light show... who knows, but he is just a kid.

You all watched Swamp kings... Brandon Spikes admitted he was a entitled kid and didn't want to work. Same with Branden Siler... both turned out to be exceptional leaders for the Gators when they flipped the switch. Maybe Cormani will flip hisnswitch... never know

I definitely understand why you wouldn't like him. I wasn't a fan either, but if he is truly coming back humbled and ready to work, I think that could be a good character sign. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Good one Spike! For what it’s worth, it was McClain rubbing Napier’s nose in it on signing day that left a lasting impression on me. Why would anybody claiming to be a lifelong Gator do that? But…..

You make a great point that Napier had a lot of information available regarding McClain that we don’t have. In Billy I trust.

Oh no! Now you've done it. You used former UT coach Butch line "brick by brick".
