Not a great job, difficult to win there and he's one of their best past players. Its kinda like the Vandy job, only way harder to recruit and you dont get to live in Nashville.

Didn't see any specifics, but the allegations of sexual hazing are particularly concerning if true.

"The players also discussed graphic details of the violent and sexual acts they were subjected to as part of hazing. The principal action was “running” in which a player “would be restrained by a group of 8-10 upperclassmen dressed in various ‘Purge-like’ masks, who would then begin ‘dry-humping’ the victim in a dark locker room.” Of note, this player claims that Fitzgerald “repeatedly” made a “Shrek clap” signal during practice, something used to identify those who would experience “running.”

Other alleged forced behaviors included naked quarterback-center exchanges, “Gatorade shake challenges” and “the carwash,” in which players stood naked at shower entrances and were sprayed by hoses. Moreover, the player reported that, after discussion at hazing prevention meetings with the university, attempts to disclose coercive behaviors were met with threats."

A comprehensive look at Northwestern football’s hazing allegations

Sometimes people hire “independent” investigators and tell them what conclusions to reach. It’s a good way to whitewash a bad situation. When it fails it fails hard and usually everyone gets fired. This is a case where the ad is gonna get replaced and maybe even the university president

    In my head--- UF

Looking at this and this alone he deserved to be fired. Plain and simple

If a player was selected for “running,” the ... would be restrained by a group of 8-10 upperclassmen dressed in various “Purge-like” masks, who would then begin “dry-humping” the victim in a dark locker room.

The Daily Northwestern further reported that freshmen were allegedly "forced to strip naked and perform various acts," including a ritual called "the carwash" that the player described as "extremely painful."

There should be a new synonym now for hazing. Fitzgeralding. (As in "Let's fitz Gerald.")

Speaking of Costanza, what happened to the poster with the Costanza avatar? He was an RN or something similar in SW FL.

Is Columbus, OH or Iowa City, somehow a better sell than the north side of Chicago? I mean, the campus doesn't suck and there is plenty to do. I think it's more about university priorities/resources, and winning culture.
If living in Nashville were such a draw, they would at least compete with campuses at places like Tuscaloosa or Clemson, or dare I say Gainesville.

All three of my kids went to Northwestern, two grads and one a rising sophomore. Campus is beautiful and 30 minutes from Chicago. This is a great job, and Fitz mucked it up.

Ohio State is Ohio State. Iowa is a state school. Northwestern is a private quasi-ivy league school trying to play Big 10 football. But you are correct, in addition to those obstacles, the school really has no sports tradition to sell. The basketball team might be even worse!

First lawsuit filed on this issue my guess is that soon there will be a flood of them. I think the ad is done and probably the university president. The lawsuit alleges that this wasn’t just the football team but it happened throughout the sports programs.
