while I like JJ not sure he’s a walking double double. Heck, even castleton fell short of that. I’d be happy with 8 and 8 per night with another big (like you said probably via transfer) helping in a big way.

I kinda' disagree. A win over The Holes in any year in anything is always great.

You probably meant the computer rankings I know.

Here's where CMW classes have ranked: 69, 20, 19, 8, 41, 51, 20. Should we have expected our seasons to mirror those rankings? Would've been nice.

As I recall, last year Reeves was considered a potential super star recruit. This year he hardly got six minutes per game. So why would anyone think that these three signees for next season will make a difference? Given Coach White's history with freshman, they will be lucky to see the floor. My hope is the administration finally pulls the plug on this coaching staff and hopefully the signees will stick with us. Nothing is going to change if White remains at the helm of Gator basketball. He is what he has shown us, and hoping things will change if he stays next year is fool hearty to say the least.

And if that happens, I have the same level of confidence in the basketball team next year as I had in our defense this year when it was announced last year that Grantham was coming back as the DC.

We didn’t run an offense that fit the players.

It is interesting that at the beginning of last season we had many posters saying that Nembhard wasn’t a good fit because he slows the tempo. Now, he runs the fastest tempo in college hoops. Laughable.

It was somewhat questionable because we still played at a pretty fast tempo with Hill and Chiozza. But I think now it’s clear it wasn’t a Nembhard issue. Although Nembhard did probably play at the slowest most deliberate pace of all of them, at least with him you could argue there was potential “efficiency” and good assist ratio even out of a slowed down style of play. The last couple years have been quite sloppy. Mann (in his breakout year last year) was individually a more talented and efficient scorer than Appleby, so that covered some of that up sloppiness. I love Appleby’s grit, but he’d almost be better as a 6th man rather than the go to guy all the time. He just had some really long stretches of killing and us if he isn’t scoring.

Obviously there are many issues with the offense, from how they initiate fast breaks, to spacing, to off the ball movement, to passing. That it’s been a 4 year problem can only be on the coaching.

What kind of offense should we have run .
    Transition ?
    Motion ?
    Dribble Drive Dish ?
    Just didn’t respect possessions

Not having Keyonte and Jitoboh killed us . I thought Felder could have been utilized more . But I for one will not second guess the coach . He knows more bball than anyone on this board will ever know

You could say that about virtually any coach. They aren’t immune from second guessing because they are more knowledgeable overall. By that standard, we shouldn’t have been second guessing Mullen because he knows more about football than the fans.

Actually St Johns, Charleston and Bowling Green are faster when you make adjustments for opponents, but you make a good point.

I might have my facts wrong, but at one point, I thought I read that Gonzaga’s time per offensive possession was 13.3 seconds, which was the fastest in the country. I also thought I read that Florida’s time per possession was the slowest in the country. I could be wrong on both of them.

Pomeroy takes into account the tendencies of the opponents and not just time of possession. But Gonzaga is certainly plays one of the fastest offenses in the country. It does help if you can always control the defensive boards and can leak out players.

Keyontae was never playing this year. If White was counting on him to succeed, that is a problem. BTW, I doubt Keyontae's plan before the issue was to be here this year either.

And we weren't exactly tearing it up with Jitoboh either.

JJ would have helped spell CC especially when the shoulder flared up. No I knew KJ wasn’t playing but the fact is we didn’t have him . White has had terrible luck ! I call it Zook luck. And I loved Zook too so that tells ya something right there. I just like good guys . Generally our basketball and baseball coaches have been great.
    I like Mushchamp too lol.

Bad luck seems to follow poor coaches. Strange that. Almost as if it isn't really "luck."
