I "believe" you've posted this "belief", before, without a link to indicate if there was an extension by the first Trump administration. I spent some time with google trying to find something to support your "belief". The only thing I found was the following from CBS:

Interestingly while Trump and the Republicans opposed extending TPS status to Venezuelans in 2020, both Marco Rubio and Rick Scott supported legislation that would have done so. Maybe they realized the similarity between the Venezuelans and Cubans although I'm sure that they (and especially Little Marco) have completely flipped on the issue since then.

How much time did you spend googling this stuff only to find nothing? I know recent events often clog up search results for past stories, but you can search by date range.

On his last full day in office, Trump extended their stay by deferring removal for 18 months. He even went so far as to direct DHS to authorize their employment. Whether that was under the TPS framework or not, Trump allowed them to stay for an extended period and was praised by Rubio and others who'd been pushing for protections. Notice that Trump referred to these Venezuelans as nationals rather than illegals.

I know two (I think) that have legit business enterprises here in Naples. Never discussed their immigration status but they have only been in country for around 7 years

They haven't established themselves as reliable R voters yet. And since MAGA lacks the mental capacity to connect those dots you laid out, they're screwed. Like all things MAGA, it's truly as simple(minded) as that.
