Holy moly, what a truly horrendous take. Men don't have to carry a fetus for nine months. Men don't have to risk death/serious complications and go through tremendous amounts of pain to birth it. You don't get equal say when the stakes aren't remotely the same.

And as for your complaining about after birth, the rationale at that point under the law becomes the best interest of the CHILD. Because our laws are designed around the idea that a child shouldn't be punished for the sins of its parents. So if you want this option for men to just walk away from their financial obligations, you better be willing to support a ridiculously robust socially safety net as a trade off.

 

No one tries to impose Jesus on others. That is not how it works. Morals, ethics and common sense are what are being pushed. The assault on liberty is exactly why the right is gaining.

 

Those who oppose abortion from conception are overwhelmingly Christian. They are similar to fundamentalist Muslims in that respect.

This argument that there are “lots” of people who believe this or that isn’t particularly relevant. There are lots of people who believe some very demonstrably ridiculous stuff.

Many people that I know I would call very successful in their chosen path but don’t have monetary wealth. They e done what they chose to do, did it well, and warned the respect of those they served, worked with, and worked for.
