Democrats looking like they're going to net zero in the Senate and lose the House by a slim margin, then call it a "blue wave" or a "Dobbs wave."

Talk about hanging your hat on excuses and moral victories.

Not a great night for Republicans either considering the expectations, but Republicans are positioned to have more power today than they did yesterday. Democrats are positioned to have less power today than they did yesterday.

    Oppose abortion = "Christian Taliban"

Oppose murder = "common sense decency and morality"

I appreciate that you clearly think for yourself. But when you straight up slander positions you disagree with, you're not exactly earning good faith with anybody.

All true but let’s not be blind to how much better pubs should have performed.
You nailed it earlier about bringing in candidates like Ron Desantis, less baggage than Trump.

This is a massive arrow in the dem quiver until the USSC restores women's reproductive rights - which could be decades. I guess we'll find out how much the GOP politicians actually give a shit about abortion and how much was just lip service to get elected.

A football analogy to what happened yesterday would be the "choak at Doak". Although that game ended in a tie, there's no doubt that FSU believes they "won" that game.

No you're absolutely right. Heads need to roll as far as Republican leadership is concerned. When you have every advantage to win in such a large fashion, and you barely scrape by, you didn't do your job.

It’s not even about Trump’s baggage, it’s election deniers and other whackos who scare the middle and even moderate Republicans. They know what that means for democracy long term if results aren’t accepted. Then add in Dobbs.
Unless you’re counting that as baggage.

The lesssons Republicans take from this will be fascinating. Nothing has been able to break Trump’s grip on the party, and the establishment can yell all day, won’t matter if the rank and file keep nominating these crazies. This is now three straight elections where they have underperformed because of what he forces on the party, at some point it has to sink in, doesn’t it? Dems won 41 house seats in 2018, won the presidency and the senate in 2020, and now this.

That's a good analogy for this case, but it's also wrong to believe that FSU "won" that game. The full 60 minutes matter, not just the second half.

Trump is a guy that you can and should learn from his successes and his failures. He's not the kind of guy where you can just ride his coattails and expect consistently good results. Add that to the fact that he has no political discipline whatsoever and he'll come after you if you don't say the things HE wants you to say, and he's becoming a lot more trouble than he's worth.

Also an interesting take on redistricting and how the Democrats were unable to redistrict in New York due to Andrew Cuomo. Mind you, I hate the partisan gerrymandering, but I hate to unilaterally disarm and be at a disadvantage, especially if it leads to losing the House

The entire American system was heavily influenced by organized religion.

They don't care about that, as can be seen by their mockery of people caring about that. The problem for them isn't the "coup" but the "failed."

Not necessarily, you can also believe it because of "the science" the left claims to follow so strictly.

Let’s chronicle the many ways Trump died last night

1)Politically - a wipeout for Team Bozo. He’s completely toxic. The derision he’s going to get from the GOP if he announces he’s running will be fun to see.

Legally - It’s Flex Time for the DOJ. Trump thought he avoid indictment by running but it’s not going to happen.

Psychically tremendous unrecoverable damage has been done to the worlds biggest ego.

Lastly, He’s a dead man walking. Just look at him he’s shambolic. He’s going to stroke out soon. I think he’s got3 years tops.

    Good Times!

I’m not going to convince you of anything. You are too married to Republican identity.

Demanding that women be required by force of the government bring early term abortions to term is not based on any science or rationality, or any sense of individual freedom, it is based upon mostly religious beliefs, or in some cases partisan beliefs.

Forcing the masses to adhere to one’s specific religious laws is similar to sharia law. As such I view them as Christian Taliban.
