The Dems have outperformed Biden's numbers in the 4 special elections held so far. Last night in a 50/50 NY seat, the Dem Ryan won.

The late gerrymandering court losses still make the GOP the favorite to take the House, but the Dems chances look the best they ever have. Meanwhile, women are registering in record numbers everywhere after the Dobbs decision made them second class citizens without full rights.

Sorry right wing nut jobs, no red wave is happening in November.

I cannot see how the Republicans do not take the House and put that mentally damaged McCarthy back in charge there. You do not need a "wave" or any other catchy political term, you just need to win more seats than the other party, and the Republicans are going to do just that in the House.

Your reading comprehension is poor. This was a 50/50 D/R district. In a wave year, the pub should have been able to win easily.

We just had a poll here saying abortion wasnt a high priority. And where are all these registrations? Likely in pre existing blue areas? So what?

And calling those who value the life of the unborn nutjobs is exactly why the left is losing some of this ground .. so keep it up.

YOU are part of the problem and you cant even see it.

Meh. Trying to impose your/our religion on others is nut job. The assault on liberty is damaging the republicans. I’ve got all the “November will be historic” posts from the right teed up for a wonderful collage.

Women lead surge in new voter registrations since Roe overturned

You're a nutjob if you think hunks of cells have more rights than adult women. And you are going to pay for it at the polls. You're also a nutjob if you think teenagers should have to continue unviable pregnancies to term at possible risk of death to those teenagers.

What about the non religious who are pro life? The point is, someone isnt a nit for trying to defend the most vulnerable providing they believe that reasonable exceptions should exist.

The laws being passed and proposed in red states do not allow for any/some exceptions.

I won’t mind if Biden has gridlock his last two years in office if the pubs take the house. The markets will like it and frankly the Dems have already passed everything I was interested in seeing done during Biden’s term.

I do hope they hold the senate though. Clarence Thomas is no spring chicken.

Ohhh so your definition changed when called out? Now we are getting specific. See we can agree.

Your link says over 30% of the new voters are not democrats. And takes into account data from right after the decision up to today.

It also doesnt tell is how many new voters there are. It could be 100 or 1,000,000.

Im not predicting a red wave anyway, but I do know the hate filled responses like yours arent helping your side... So again, this nutjob says... Keep it up!

Disagree with Tilly on a number of issues but would never characterize him as a nut job. He’s one of the most thoughtful and respectful posters on this board.

I’m surprised how many states are pushing for zero exceptions. There will be unintended consequences in those states in their ability to attract and retain doctors. Indiana is already seeing that.

Psst...GOP women are pissed about Dobbs, too. They like having all the same rights to bodily autonomy as the crappy old men do who pass these laws in neanderthal states.

    Go ask Kansas.

You are aware that the NY 19th is a swing district and that it's considered a good bellwether? Obama won it in 2012, a Republican was elected to the House from the district in 2014, Trump won it 2016, and Biden won it by a little over one percent in 2020. What's interesting is that the campaign of Molinaro (the Republican) was focused entirely on the economy while Ryan the Democrat focused almost entirely on the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade. While I still think that the Republicans will retake the House anyone expecting that 2022 will be a Republican wave election like 2010 or 1994 is in for a rude awakening.

The way overwhelming number of abortions are, just because, but the no exception states are likely to see a backlash at the state level for sure.

Marc Molinero is an A+ candidate recruited to flip New York's 19th Congressional District in that special election. Every poll had him up and conventional wisdom among both parties was that he was going to win it handily. It turns out he lost by about two points.

This is the third special election for Congress since the Dobbs decision came out and in every one of them Democrats have overperformed expectations. The MN-01 and NE-01 special elections were expected to be blow outs for the Republicans. They barely won both of them by the skin of their teeth and tonight they failed to flip NY-19.

It would seem that conservatives went "Leroy Jenkins" with their red wave because they just can't stay out of other people's bedrooms. They'll still likely take the House, but by a much smaller majority than they would have and they can definitely kiss the Senate goodbye at this point.

There almost certainly are millions of right-wingers who value the well being of a 2-cell zygote more than they value the well-being of a 10-year old rape victim. You can all judge for yourselves as to whether these people are nut jobs. You can also judge for yourselves as to whether they are good people.
