Runoffs are hella unpredictable. If it turns out to be for the control of the senate, you’d think that would be good for Warnock because it would be similarly high turnout to recent elections. But with such a slim margin, it could go either way. Depends on where those libertarian voters split and how many just don’t bother showing up. If it turned out to be for seat 51, then i think that’s even more of a wildcard as then you are possibly dealing with lower enthusiasm and turnout on both sides.
I haven't paid much attention to her, but like so many of them: Is she really crazy or did she figure out that simply acting crazy was her best chance to make it in politics? I mean, it did get her the GOP slot for governor. So she wasn't wrong.
Gotta give Dems credit for tonight. Democracy did not die. Love the strategy of voting in Pub primaries to nominate crazies and the eliminate them in the general
That would be the painfully wise thing to do. Painful because trump has such an absolute lock on a significant segment of Rs that if he is not on the ballot, they might stay home on Election Day. In my view, it may take a while for trump to be expelled from the bowels of the Republican Party.
Wish I could disagree with this post. I didn't vote for that idiot in 16 or 20 and sure as hell won't if he runs in 24. I think the Reps need to pull the bandaid off now and deal with it for 3-6 months and then rally behind DeSantis. But that won't happen.
It will be interesting to see the spin and talking points later today from the usual suspects in maga world.
Spin will be to try to gloss over all of the handpicked Trump folks in competitive races either losing outright or vastly underperforming other R’s. It’s already popped up on Trumpbook. Will do so by trying to claim that Trump backed candidates won like 100-10 or something by ignoring that most of those are either House candidates in totally non-competitive districts or weren’t actually Trump candidates in the first place (like claiming the win by Kemp, who he endorsed like 3 days ago, as being one of his candidates).
Trump will take credit for Vance's victory in Ohio and claim that Oz, Masters and Bolduc, all Trumpers originally lost because they tried at least somewhat to separate themselves from the Donald and that O'Dea lost in Colorado because he was always a non-Trump Republican.
dems have to do better. better candidates, better ground game, quit picking people based on their ethnicity or race, find good speakers with solid ideas not tied to the far wing of the party.
