Starting QB hurt, starting CB hurt, and we won't have had a whole offseason to prepare for future games, many of which are against tougher opponents. Not much hope to be had with those circumstances.
Miami fans were right. They dominated both lines of scrimmage. What also hurt was that Mertz was off all game…maybe pressing too much.
We have a decent qb for backup and he’s better suited for no protection. The cb has been hurt every three plays since he’s been here so next man up seems appropriate. We have a few decently ranked db’s to jump in his hole. Move on, n o big deal in the big picture.
Must champ did hire a new dude every year he just could not get it online. I don’t know if he just looked for Yasmin or it just didn’t work out but it Easy to get the right combination
It’s pretty wide at the line of scrimmage. Our coaches may not be geniuses, but they are not idiots either.
Pinning this on the players is wrong IMO. Sure Mertz had a poor outing and the OL/DL were abused. But whose job is that in year 3 (versus another year 3 coach in Mario)? Who schemes around our weaknesses versus blows smoke about how much better we look than last year? Who freaking runs the same plays out of the same bunch formation so that the defense only has to worry about 2/3 of the field? Who coaches our secondary where communication is bad? Sorry but this was the last 2 losing seasons, version 3.0. The common denominator is pitiful coaching and no adjustments/change. Blaming Gator players for 3 losing seasons is wrong.
Watching Josh Pate's live stream. He said this loss was the worse loss in Gator history. Cam Ward at the end of the game mentioned that they pumped the crowd noise at Miami and he said that the pumped noise was louder than the Swamp. He was disappointed in the Swamp, he thought it was this magical place that opposing teams crumble and yet he said it was disappointing.
There’s a mute button that should be used on me quite often too. Sometimes I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about. Do you believe that forest?
Billy is in so far over his head. It's been obvious for awhile. I liked the structure he put in place when first he got here but everything else has been a disaster.
The point was there's no real reason to believe we're going to be significantly better. Do you dispute that?
He’s done a lot of good things, but he ain’t getting it done. I like the man and I think he’s a good person but it’s time to go.
started the game over again, to watch for other angles. Focusing on line play this go around. 1st Gator drive. GM baseball slides for a nice gain--AFTER 2 play action faux handoffs--4 whole secs in the pocket b4 he decides to run. Pocket wasn't collapsing--he just saw a lane open up. Ie--not our OL getting bulldozed through by um. Next play a run for no gain. Rb ran into a wall. Left tackle dud NOT get blown off the line--he gave up on the play, allowing UMs REnd to close the lane. That's pure @#$%^&n coaching. I'll ppst more when I see the part about our talent being blown out by theirs.
Lol! Very next play, we look like keystone cops, with whiffed blocks, crap angles, unaccounted for defenders... Again...coaching.
Literally looked like the Utah game LAST YEAR. How many players can you say have gotten noticeably better since he’s been here? Let’s admit it, McCray, James, and Searcy should get Boone and Sapp snaps. I’ve seen enough. To their credit, I thought TJ Searcy and Kamran James had good games all things considering along the DL. I liked what I saw outta Pup. Even Michai Boireau caught my eye. Where the hell was Kelby Collins??
The last time I saw our O-line and D-line get totally dominated was when we played that ROIDED UP Nebraska team in the 1995 Fiesta Bowl (played in 1996) of course. I never thought that group of O-line and D-line players were really that good at their last school... Something is a miss...
