From the article: No. 1 quarterback recruit Dylan Raiola has made a major decision about his college future. Raiola, the consensus top quarterback in the 2024 class, has decided to switch his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The quarterback had previously committed to Georgia in May.
I’ll buy that. Why else would a top recruit go play for middling, used-to-be team like Nebraska? Reminds me of when Tim Couch wasted his college years at Kentucky when could have played for anyone, won championships, been a legitimate Heisman contender …
Could also be playing time. I know Carson Beck announced he was returning. Maybe Nebraska is telling him he is a lock for QB1 if he shows up??? and a FAT CHECK
Uncle just got a 53% raise for a poor Oline. Not sour grapes, happy with the QB room, but DR went to 4 different high schools and has committed to 3 different colleges. May have dodged s bullet here.
I’ll buy NIL before I buy playing time. Playing time is good, but not all playing time is equal. Going back to my different-era example of Tim Couch, he got an extraordinary amount of playing time. Lots of it bad for him. How many more interceptions did he throw or sacks did he take because his receivers, backs, and line were not up to snuff?
Raiola rhymes with Payola, though I think that refers to bribes in the music industry. But it looks like there must be an awful lot of money in husking corn in Nebraska.
He dad was a 3 yr starter, All American and Remington award winner. He also played 14 years in the NFL.
