Non profits and not for profits do have some duties to make their financials available to the public, but there’s tons of ways to be less than transparent even if you’re showing all the money that moves in and out. I would say the lions share of NIL deals are booster/collective sponsored. Some kids have received some big deals from unaffiliated third parties, but most have some tie to the school the kids are attending. Safe to assume the school is losing out on money that’s given to the players directly. Not many of the smaller folks can afford to do both. Even the bigger guys are unlikely to want to give their normal contribution to the schools, double down on NIL, and then triple down when they’re hit up for facilities upgrades they would have contributed to prior to NIL.

The UAA isn’t a state entity, so its financials aren’t subject to Sunshine Laws. I wouldn’t bet on transparency anytime in the near future.

It is a not for profit, and they do have to release some of their financials. If you've ever seen one of the reports they release, you'd see that they don't really tell you a whole lot about what's happening though. Money in and money out maybe, but not exactly where it all comes from and exactly where it all goes. I wouldn't be shocked to see salary info released if/when we get to that point, but I also won't be shocked if it's not public. Those numbers alone won't tell you much of anything anyway though, as the lions share of the money is still going to come from 3rd parties, not much different from the way it is right now.

I don't know if the agreement has been accepted by the courts yet or finalized, but whatever they were trying to sell would cap the school's contribution directly to the athletes at 20 million. If that is split up somewhat evenly across the entire athletic dept (title 9?), that part will be pennies compared to some of the NIL deals these guys/girls are already getting. All schools probably don't have 20 mill in surplus to give to their athletes.

It's a good career path if you can get it.

And you really only need one job to be set.

If you enter at the bottom, it's pretty miserable pay, hours, and job security.
