Latest intel according to Clay Travis is Arky and UT are suing. Apparently there is a breach of contract. Grab some popcorn. :D

Hmmmm....since the contracts (unless they jumped the gun and signed direct pay contracts related to the House settlement) are between Iamaleava and the NIL purchaser, do they have standing to sue? Does Travis mean that the Collectives are suing? It's just maddening to try to keep up with all this crap. I pine for the days when all you had to worry about in the off-season was if Joe Football was going to make his grades or not to be eligible in the Fall.

I do know that Arky's AD Yurachek is the one that wants compensation back for the collective. Allegedly, the father took 500,000. I'm waiting for it to play out, but this is starting to hit the fan.

Everything I get as recommendations online seems to be nonsense about recruiting or political crap that exactly matches my thoughts. I hope somebody figures out how to get information that isn’t curated.

If they are suing, I wonder if that will hurt them in recruiting moving forward. Seems you really gotta baby this generation of recruits.

Some states may have laws that allow direct payments already. Georgia even went so far as to get a restraining order against the NCAA to prevent them from enforcing some of this stuff. They’re still NIL deals, not employment contracts, but there’s no reason why you couldn’t have buyout clauses if the athletes are willing to sign up for that. I wouldn’t, but a lot of these kids are probably just signing whatever is put in front of them.

Someone has to set the precedent. If you are going to get sued for breaching a contract anywhere you go, then those provisions won't matter in recruiting.

This was a completely obvious prediction of what was ultimately going to happen. The Schools and Universities are tired of this transfer portal crap and are going to try to reign it in via direct revenue share contract claw back provisions and the House settlement. We'll see if the prospect of getting sued slows down the mass exodus we are seeing every transfer portal season.

I doubt the Iamaleava camp fights Arky too hard on this unless whatever upfront payments or signing bonus Madden got didn't have some requirements behind it that will be unmet now that he's leaving after 2 months there. I think this is being put out there to prevent future abuses.
