I think it might be nice to let the primaries get moving. Sometimes, a candidate picks up huge momentum as the primaries move forward. Haley is picking up steam. She is absolutely putting herself in a position to rocket up once the primaries pick up steam.

    "Rocket Up"?
Sadly the only way any of the contenders "rocket up" is if trump is convicted of a felony and can't run. Then it s a free for all with Haley probably leading the way.

Here’s an interesting scenario. Haley continues to solidify 2nd place, and poll well against Biden. If Trump were smart he’d negotiate a commitment from Haley for a full pardon, and then throw his support behind her, given her chances of beating Biden are higher than Trump’s.

That assumes that Trump is rational. Even if Haley offered to pardon Trump in exchange for his withdrawal he would still decline. His ego is such that he has to establish that he is a winner and if he should lose to Biden again we can expect a repeat of his 2020 post-election denial complete with violence on the part of his supporters.

Given the maga crowd mindset any republican that was elected Prez not named trump would face enormous pressure to pardon trump no matter the crimes he was convicted of.

Look for Haley to announce backing from some big $$ that has been sitting in the sidelines. I suspect that the Koch machine will get behind Haley too.

Agree. I think that some big money donors were hoping to persuade Glenn Youngkin to run for the Republican nomination. Youngkin's presidential aspirations went down the tubes following the big Republican loss in Tuesday's Virginia state legislative election leaving Haley as the only viable alternative. If Haley is to have any chance the other Republican candidates running for the nomination with the possible exception of Ramaswamy who probably draws more votes from Trump than he does from Haley would have to drop out making the race a one-on-one and even then she would still be a long shot.

I don’t know VA politics like you do but doubted that Youngkin would have jumped in either way this time. Also not sure it would make sense for Republicans to give up on him entirely going forward.

Although I don't know whether he would have decided to run or not I do think that some of the large GOP donors would have continued their effort to persuade him to run if the legislative election had gone the way that he was hoping with the GOP majorities in both Houses of the State legislature. Instead of a Republican State legislature the Democrats held their majority in the State senate and flipped the State House of Delegates which prior to the election had a small Republican majority.

Nikki Haley to Drop $10 Million in IA, NH to Trounce Ron DeSantis (breitbart.com)

More specifically, the Haley campaign is investing $10 million in ads for both Iowa and New Hampshire, which will kick off in December. The Associated Press describes the move as a “massive investment designed to give the former United Nations ambassador an advantage over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at a critical moment in the GOP nomination fight.”

Lol, they call it investing, it's a waste I don't think she'll be able to beat DeSantis and doesn't stand a chance at all against Trump. It's time for all of them to get out and get behind Trump, it's clear he'll be nominated

Seems like Haley has a real to pass DeSantis, given his off-putting personality and his authoritarian tendencies (if any GOP voter is actually put off by either, anymore.)

I don’t care for her. She is far too establishment.
Not that I want Trump either. I would still prefer DeSantis over her.
She will have us in conflicts just as much as Biden.

I encourage every voter, irregardless of political or ideological affiliation to go vote for Haley or DeSantis in the GOP primary.

Trump is clear, he will destroy the democracy, the constitution, imprison or make life untennable for those opposed to him, he will set up his sons and (maybe) Ivanka to rule in perpetuity.

Is this really what main stream conservatives want?

You'll have to show me apparently. Show me where DeSantis operates brown shits or even supports them.
