The come on man cracks me up. Probably hits a nerve being reminded that you're voting for a man with a plethora of racist gaffes on his resume. If not blatant policies.

    *cough* crime bill *cough*.

Them not being Trump, right? Because she said what I said about Trump while she worked for him for quite a while afterwards.

Wow. So she condemned him...2 years later, after publicly backing him and working for him for another year, not leaving because she found working for Trump unacceptable but because of an ethics complaint. She condemned him two years later, after she had no incentive to back him any longer. And supported him again anyways (as actually taking a stand against Trump wouldn't help her career). Real profile in courage that one.

What percentage voted for her according to exit polls? Minority approval ratings are notoriously jumpy due to low sample sizes. Let's use a larger sample, such as an exit poll.

If "we" do, it'll be partly because the vast majority of the politicians in the Republican Party like Haley don't have the guts or backbone to simply call out Trump for what he totally is. No ifs, ands, or buts, and without using obscenities, as hard as that is to do.

She condemned him to his face. She mentions it to George Stephanopoulos at one point. She refused to give him details which is her right.

Justify voting for the guy with the long history of racist comments however you need to.

Maybe that's because we did away with slavery over 150 years ago, so the only relevant vestige of the convo, is in terms of freedom.

Because, in case you weren't aware, that's the problem with slavery--a state completely lacking of freedom. And it's only relevance today (besides the proliferation of actual slavery which we facilitate by leaving the southern border wide open for sex trafficking...I digress...), is as a hyperbolic symbol to illustrate points vis a vis individual freedom.

Of course to the rabidly TDS inflicted, it's just a cudgel to spittle spray shot everyone in spittle distance with allegations of racism....

    C'est la vie.

    #SJW'swithTDS!!!

What do you mean justify? I don't what you're talking about. I'm simply stating fact. The Republican Party is led by Trump-fearing politicians with no backbone or integrity, or apparently with a lack of both. Chris Christie? A voice crying in the wilderness.

Oh, she did, huh? According to who? Her? Is that when she said she had a private conversation (note: not condemnation). Why was she willing to condn him (according to you) to his face but then backed him in public at the same time?

Why do you think she failed to give details? Certainly, it is her right, but why?

And one of us will speculate for partisan reasons?

No, you are speculating that she condemned him when she stated that she had a conversation right as she backed him in public (and refused to disclose the contents of said conversation). You are doing that for what reason exactly?

I am relying on her public statements at the time. You are relying on what you wish she said to his face but don't know.

No nerve hit. I’m judging by what he has done in his three years as president. Even you said he has done an okay job except for his “ProGrEsSive AgEnda”, whatever that means.

You voted for a man that was pro-choice 10 years ago but it appears you got over that in 2016.

I will say that your talent of twisting yourself into a pretzel to excuse Republican behavior is very impressive.

This is all about an irrelevant politician. Trump has the nomination sewed up. One more indictment and Haley and all the others might as well drop out and (surprise!) "support our soon-to-be-nominee." She's relevant only in that she's running for vp and might get if she continues to watch her p's and q's, like all the others except that former gov from New Jersey, who openly detests their POS nominee. What a lonely Republican position to take.

It’s bizarre she would even do this. WHY?

Who exact would she lose by just banging that question out with the single word, and then moving on? She could literally say “Slavery. WHATTUP??”

Anyone who is still Lost Cause in 2023 is Trump and there will be no changing that.

    Just an idiotic choice.

Well yeah, he is right. Probably presents as the most presidential of the R candidates.

Chris Christie: "When Nikki said last night, 'that was a Democrat plant, in my town hall' — well, first of all, I say to everybody in New Hampshire, whoever wants to come in this room, come in this room and whatever question you want to ask me. Ask me, and if I can't deal with a question from a voter in New Hampshire, I have no damn business being in the Oval Office.

Who gives a shit what this lady said? The chances of the GOP nominating a woman are 0.00000%. Not gonna happen. So why bother caring what she says?

You know what? Republicans could probably win every election if they weren’t so hell bent on alienating black people. They go out of their way to piss us off. There’s very little she could say or do… no matter how good the idea was… that would make me vote for her if she can’t say the Civil War was about slavery without hesitation. The question was an azimuth check… a reminder to blacks that she’s not with us. It was a gotcha question… I agree with that, but she messed up.

Take it however you feel inclined to, but I would submit it is you who are defining your existence by the heritage of your skin, not her defining you as such (btw, she's Indian and a woman--and she downplays that rather than rallying folks around her *minority*).

Slavery is long dead as an institution here. The CW's relevance today, is a matter of freedom and equal treatment of ppl in spite of race. Imho, her answer was thus crafted.

What's more, note that the folly of defining the CW in terms of slavery (ie limiting its application to slavery) is EXACTLY the game the Jim Crow south played in justifying discriminatory treatment--to wit:

"What's the problem? It's not slavery--which is what the war was about."

    But hey, you do you...

Funny how the "But Biden" syndrome has stricken you in this thread. So you've moved on from Chyna Ron to Nicki, ehh?
