Nikki Haley acknowledges Civil War ‘about slavery’ after facing backlash

If someone asked that question, I don’t think I’d struggle with the answer. Would you?

You were a history major at UF and are just now learning that there had been slaves in the north?

 

Of course not. I’ve known it for years. And yes, I was taught, at UF, that slavery was the underlying cause of the war and other fairy tales.

It sure is. In the space of a few pages the thread went from Nikki Haley not wanting to offend her KKK followers to, “Well, everybody knew that the North was complicit in slavery. Did you fall off the turnip truck yesterday ?”

 

Fake tolerance is so “in” this season.
It’s fun to see what crazy libbies will think of next, and then pretend it’s normal.

Because there is a concerted effort to rewrite history in such a manner that removes context from current issues affecting many black Americans. It serves to fortify a belief system that blacks are somehow less intelligent, industrious, or productive than other races by minimizing the effects of slavery, Jim Crow, and other systematic injustices that had a lasting effect on a particular segment of our population. By denying the true cause of the Civil War, these new Confederate apologists seek to throw salt in open wounds and further divide us as a nation.
