Smart's buyout is only 5 mil. I think they talk to him first and throw huge money at him but I think Smart wants to make a name for himself there at uga. Money isn't everything. So, it would not surprise me if Lane gets at the very least an interview.
Can't find one reason why smart would want to leave his Alma matter. He has every bit of the same financial, governmental and institutional support Bama does, he's won titles there already and he played there. If he ever leaves its to go to the NFL. That's it. Edit: I'll happily eat my own words if it means getting that guy out even if it means going to Bama.
Only forced smiles when asked to do so while hoisting a trophy. Then the smile disappears as soon as he sets it down. The man truly enjoyed the chase more than the capture. Not sure what he will do to maintain his sanity in retirement.
Yep, Exhibit A re Dabo's thin skin. Can you imagine Saban engaging with the local know-nothing fan contingent. Dabo took a team from nothing to 2 NCs yet still got in an argument with "Tyler."
I live up here in the middle of gumpland and there is much weeping and wailing going on. I'm listening to the local call in sports show and callers are crying over the air. From some of the comments you would think Saban was approaching deity.
According to Coach Saban himself.......the downside of his championships. It took time away from him to do recruiting. And he was dead serious! Now that is the mindset you want your head coach to have!
Set it earlier in the thread but Lanning only having 2 years as a head coach was probably a non starter with them, they aren't the type to go the up and coming route. He might still end up the guy but it will be because a lot of other names said no.
I not so sure. I think Deon would be immediately hired at FSU, and he would recruit lights out for years to come.
