I thought the same thing so I looked up their status. As luck would have it all of those receivers were juniors or sophomores. #11, 19, 12, 6, 15 and 8. The RB was a junior too and several OL were juniors too. Yep - I think Nick is set up to have a very big senior year and will be a low/mid 4* QB by the end of his season. Our QB room will be passionately discussed/debated on message boards for the next few years. It's going to heat up the minute Emory has consecutive games where he throws a 2+ picks...and that WILL happen. Based on just hs performance and factoring in the competition, how would you rank our QB's?
AR AR CDR Evers EJ Kitna This is just based on what I believe. I think EJ is the most ready to start but watch AR. The others will need a year or so to develop. Just my opinion.
Evers looks like a real prospect. He throws a very catchable pass with great touch for such a young players. Two or three years at the training table and S&C program could turn this guy into something special. My QB room rankings, talent-wise, based on hearsay and guess work: AR EJ CDR Kitna Evers
As mentioned earlier. It’s really nice to have a QB commit early and actively start recruiting the rest of the class.
Your top three are my top three but I have them in a different order. The competition EJ faced in HS was not even close to what Evers or CDR went against. I think CDR is going to be special.
3 star on rivals but I think the 10th ranked DT QB should be a 4 star kind of guy. Decent offer list. Not all the big time schools but a lot of offers. That's a good sign. I wouldn't think we need two QBs this cycle.
I was thinking of flipping CDR and AR but I believe AR is going to be like Cam. Just my opinion. CDR seems to have the it as well.
For next season: EJ AR CDR Kitna I wouldn't be surprised if the order was different the following season.
I think EJ is going to put a stranglehold on starting QB...the guy is going to be much better than you think he will be...he knows the offense and has a dynamic skill set that fits what mullen wants to do. Im not sure what the doubters watched last year that make them not believe in the guy but Ill at least give him a couple games at the helm with the full playbook to get his rhythm before I start calling for his backup.
I agree. I think he’s going to be a gamer much in the mold that Grossman was. Not the greatest “practice” player but once he’s in the actual game, he’ll do the job and do it well. No doubt about it. I’d be SHOCKED if he struggled to the point where you question if he’s QB1
I see the order as two tier: run threat first and passing threat first. AR I believe has the highest ceiling above EJ in run threat. CDR and Evers top the pass first because of their mobility only. Kitna makes me think of a mobile Trask. He may have the highest passing ceiling because he has all the throws and has the background to be the most advanced in reading defenses. I really like what we are building in the QB room.
If h has plus accuracy and somewhat quick decisions, the only other question I have is, can he run the ball 10+ times a game and stay healthy.
You have to love a guy that is all in on the Gators and has already started trying to get others to commit.
