Sunday, January 29, 2023. 6:30 P.M. ET. CBS. NFL AFC CHAMPIONSHIP. Cincinnati Bengals. (13-4). at Kansas City Chiefs. (14-3).
This promises to be a great game. The only drawback is that you have to listen to that gawd awful whore chant throughout the game.
Tied in the early 2nd half1 13-13! Evan Mcpherson with two FG's for Cincinnatti. In the 1st half, Kadarius Toney (Kansas City) almost caught a TD pass in the endzone but the refs said that he didn't have complete possession of the ball. It was very close though.
The Bills couldn't take advantage of the 3 starters missing off the Bengals O-line; The Chiefs did. Burrow had little time to throw and couldn't take many deep shots like he's used to. Mahomes had good protection and proved his greatness by being a pocket passer most of the night and then gutting out that run at the end of the game. I was pulling for the Bengals, but thought the best team won last night.
After luckily converting that 3rd & 17 deep in their territory with about 50s remaining, the Bengals made a tactical mistake in not at least forcing an overtime against the Chiefs. While Cincinnatti should be trying to get in position to set up a potential game-winning-FG, the bengals should have ran the ball either on 1st or 2nd down to kill the clock, also. Instead after three incompletions, there was just enough time for their opponent to go for the winning field goal.
Chiefs had a touchdown and interception called back from penalties. 4 penalties for 55 yards compared to 9 for 71 for cincy but at least 3 of those were false starts from crowd noise. I don't get passionate about the NFL. Even as a Chiefs fan, I was ok if Jacksonville won the week before. The officiating thing is made out to be a much bigger deal this game than it was in my opinion.
