The Sweaty One once was the head coach there. I thought that there would have been more drama when they played Illinois in the 2005 NCAA Sweet Sixteen or was it the Sweat Sixteen?
Coming off a loss to Eastern Kentucky but they do have an NBA lottery pick in Patrick Baldwin playing for his dad so could be an interesting matchup
I'm glad for good competition early on. Will definitely help the guys get ready for what appears to be a tough conference season.
We played them in the 2nd round of our first NC title run, beat 'em by 26. But they had a very good team.
I'm liking how our schedule shapes up heading into the Oklahoma game. My biggest takeaway from today: I don't think this was an unsustainable fluke. I think what we say today will be the M.O. for most of the season. We'll be less dialed in sometimes, or some players will be cold shooting sometimes. But not much. Older team, less drama, more consistency. And if Felder busts out a little bit, then we're looking at a solid 7. At that point, Jitoboh and Reece are just insurance policies.
I think this team will continue to get better as the season progresses. Still learning the system and how to play with each other. Good nucleus l, intensity and defensive effort
